Holy moly Popwatchers! It's 8:46 and I just tuned in. I had another bad day at work and yanno, I just forgot the show was on. Then I went to turn on the TV and lo and behold I somehow managed to turn off the power to the tube and more importantly, the PVR. So I don't even have the first 45 minutes recorded. I'm hoping it was mostly crap though. Work with me here.
And, it turns out I pretty much missed the whole first hour, other than Claire's cryfest. Enough said. That's okay, cause I'm not a big Tyce Diorio fan, whereas I am a big Dan Karaty fan. I personally think they should let anyone go to choeregraphy who's bold enough to use an Alicia Keys song for their audition. She's pretty hard to dance to, if you ask me.
Dancing D(erek Bradley) - I think that guy is whiter than I am, and that's harder than heck to imagine. I have t say this about that: It's "hollaaaaaa", not "hollerrrrr". Enough said.
Markus Shields from DC, danced in memory of his mother. I really liked what he did. He was right on with the music - perfectly matched to the beats. Maybe I'm just a sucker for the mom story, but I thought he could really move his way across a stage. I really hope he makes it out of the choreography. And he makes it to Vegas!
I loved the DC Swingers. I don't know if they're right for this show, but they were fun to watch. But they didn't make it through the choreography.
Unitard boy (Brandon Bryant) had some seriously nice legs. I loved him. I Loved that choice of music. I thought he had a lot of passion and awesome music. I think Nigel is going to hate him cause he's gayer than gay, but will respect him because he dances very strong. I think he should go to Vegas, don't you? Oh... Nigel called him very masculine. Nice. And Mary gave him a holla! Even Dan loved him. And yes guy! They sent him to Vegas!!
What did you think of Anthony Bryant? Was that a Jean Michel Jarre piece he danced to? Did you think the cinched belt on his outfit made him look masculine? Will he make it through the choreography? Assuming he graduated from Juilliard in dance, I would bloody hope so, wouldn't you? Holy. He didn't make it. Interesting. If he'd auditioned somewhere else, do you think that would have happened? They took personality-less Danny last year - it took him 3 months to warm up. I don't understand this show sometimes.
The last hour didn't match the first show from last week yet, that's for sure. I just want us to get to the performance part. What do you all think? Did I miss a Denise Wall student from Charleston, by the way? You know I love me her students.
Next week - the last auditions (thank goodness). And then a week of Vegas. So what... two weeks til we get the actual shows. I can hold on that long! Can you?
